Why it matters
When buyers search your name, the panel frames the first impression: logo, description, reviews, competitors ("people also search for"). An absent or wrong panel makes a real business look less established, and you can influence it more than most companies realise.
How it works
Google builds panels from its Knowledge Graph, fed by your website's structured data, Wikipedia/Wikidata, your Google Business Profile, and consistent facts across authoritative sites. Inconsistency across those sources is the usual reason panels stay thin or wrong.
What to do about it
Search your brand name in a private window. If the panel is missing or off, fix the feeds: organisation structured data on your site, a complete Google Business Profile, and matching facts everywhere your business is listed.
