Keyword research

Keyword research is finding out what your buyers type and ask (which phrases, how often, and how hard they are to win) so content gets built for demand that exists rather than demand you imagine.

Why it matters

The most common content mistake is writing about what you want to say in words nobody searches. Research flips it: real phrases, real volumes, real questions, including the ones your buyers ask AI assistants, which rarely match your internal vocabulary.

How it works

Tools (and the engines' own autocomplete and "people also ask") reveal query phrasings, rough volumes and difficulty. The craft is grouping queries by intent (one page per intent, not per phrasing) and prioritising where value, volume and winnability overlap.

What to do about it

Start with the twenty searches that precede a purchase in your category. Write them as your buyers would phrase them, check who wins today, and build the plan from the gaps.
