An AEO agency for the answer engines.
Right now, a client you'd win in the room is asking ChatGPT who to hire. It's answering with three names and its reasons, and you'll never see the conversation. No lost pitch. No missed call. No page two to check. Just work quietly going to whoever the machines already know. Your reputation was built in person: rooms, referrals, word of mouth. The machines can't hear any of it. We put it in writing where they're listening.
What answer engine optimisation involves
Answer engine optimisation (AEO) is the work of getting your business named and cited when people ask AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google's AI Overviews, and Gemini for a recommendation. It starts with knowing where you stand: we audit what the engines currently say about you, across the questions that decide purchases in your category. Then the work: structuring your content so it's easy to lift and quote, establishing the authorship and entity signals that tell the machines who you are, and building the third-party corroboration that answer engines trust. It ends with measurement, because citation share is now a metric you can track and improve like any other.
Why AEO is a category of its own
Traditional SEO optimises for a ranked list of links. AEO optimises to be the answer itself, the source the machine repeats when there's no list to scroll. The skills overlap but the target is different: an engine deciding what to quote weighs structure, clarity, authorship, and corroboration differently than a search algorithm ranking pages. Agencies still running pure 2019 SEO are optimising for a surface that's shrinking. We build for the one that's growing. If your customers are starting their search in an AI chat, being absent from those answers is the new page two.
Why work with us
AEO is the discipline we've gone deepest on, and this site is the proof: it's built answer-first, structured to the field level, and designed to be cited. You work with a small senior team that does the actual work. We're based in Melbourne and work with businesses across Australia and beyond, because the answer engines don't care where you're headquartered.
What it costs
Search and AEO retainers run $2,000 to $10,000 a month depending on how competitive your category is. Real number, on the page, because you'd ask anyway.
What we won't do
We won't promise a guaranteed spot in an AI answer: nobody controls the engines, and anyone claiming otherwise is selling something. We won't fake the corroboration signals that make AEO work, because the engines discount them and it puts your credibility at risk. And we won't dress up old SEO as AEO. The disciplines overlap, but they're not the same work, and we don't pretend otherwise.
On the ground, city by city.
Each city page carries its own read on how the answer engines are behaving there, and what we'd do about it.
